Challenge:
Cityconexx received a client request to take over the management of an extensive building project for a modular office and warehouse storage fit-out. The current project manager had limited experience with requirements and to run the project successfully.  As a result the project had unrealistic timeline as well as total budget – many components had not been factored in such as engineering which lead to additional construction costs. There was no competitive process involved prior to selecting the successful suppliers. Cityconexx was appointed to take over the project delivery, this included permits, contracts, timings and budget.  

Objective:
To conduct an extensive review of the project, propose and implement a new process to ensure the building was compliant, cost effective and delivered within agreed timings.

Solution:
Cityconexx hired a town planning consultant, building surveyor, various engineering disciplines to fulfil the long list of requirements that had not been considered. Cityconexx then liaised with contractors and suppliers to source modular office building, managed design, engineering and permit requirements, renegotiated contracts for cost-control and quality purposes. A competitive sourcing process was conducted, requesting quotes from the Cityconexx professional network of qualified contractors and suppliers. New suppliers were appointed to the project at a reduced rate, producing significant savings for the client – final project budget was approx$1.8m, Cityconexx delivered the project for approx. $1.55m ..
